The Best Time to visit Dubai

For travelers consulting a travel guide, it’s important to note that Dubai experiences its tourist season from November to March. This period is  characterized by cooler temperatures ranging from highs in the 80s to lows in the 60s. This period typically sees increased crowds and slightly higher prices. Conversely, during the summer months of June to August, temperatures soar with an average high of 105, making it less favorable for tourism.

A Travel Guide to best places in Dubai

Dubai has lots of fancy hotels, and you can also find places to stay on Airbnb. Picture Dubai like a long road, similar to Las Vegas or Cancun. In the middle is Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. At one end, you’ll find Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Al Arab.

At the opposite end are Dubai Airport and Old Dubai with its traditional markets. Along the way is Jumeirah Beach with its resorts, shops, and restaurants. Depending on what you like, you might want to stay close to one of these famous places.

A Travel Guide To Getting Around In Dubai

Dubai has lots of traffic, especially during rush hours. It’s important to know that the work week in Dubai is from Sunday to Thursday, with the weekend on Friday and Saturday. So, traffic is usually lighter on the weekends, which might affect how long it takes to drive from place to place.

Taxis

To get the best prices, opt for regular taxi cabs instead of the luxurious Lexus ones. Always check if there’s a meter in the taxi, or you can ask the driver about the fare from one place to another. For instance, we weren’t aware of an extra charge when leaving from the Metro station on Palm Jumeirah to Dubai Mall.

Metro

Dubai’s Metro system is clean and convenient, especially during the week and rush hour when traffic is heavy. However, on weekends, it can get crowded, with long waits between trains and possibly no available seats.

Also, keep in mind that getting to the Metro station in Dubai Mall can be quite a walk. When using the Metro, allow plenty of time, especially if you need to change trains. Trains run more frequently during the week.

A Travel Guide To Buses in Dubai

Another way to explore Dubai is through two available bus systems, both conveniently located at Dubai Mall for pickup. Each system offers different routes covering all the main areas. However, we encountered heavy traffic during Thursday rush hour, limiting our sightseeing time on the bus.

To make the most of this option, consider starting early in the morning, choosing a weekend day, or purchasing a multi-day pass.

A Travel Guide To Clothing in Dubai

In different seasons, you’ll need to adjust your clothing accordingly to cope with Dubai’s varying temperatures. During the cooler months from November to March, lightweight layers are suitable. The  temperatures ranges from highs in the 80s to lows in the 60s

In the scorching summer months from June to August, lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton are essential to stay cool in the average high temperatures of 105°F. Regardless of the season, remember to dress modestly and respectfully, especially in public areas.
