UAE National Olympic Committee Reveals Delegation for 2024 Summer Olympics
The UAE National Olympic Committee has officially announced the country’s delegation for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The UAE will be represented by 14 athletes, accompanied by 20 technical and administrative staff, competing in various disciplines including equestrian, judo, swimming, cycling, and athletics.
Flag Bearer and Opening Ceremony
Omar Al Marzouqi, an accomplished equestrian who won a silver medal in individual showjumping at the Youth Olympics in 2018, will serve as the UAE’s flag-bearer during the Opening Ceremony.
UAE Athletes in Paris
The UAE athletes are already in Paris, preparing for the Games that will take place from July 26 to August 11.
Unveiling of the UAE Olympic Uniforms
The UAE National Olympic Committee also unveiled the uniforms to be worn by the Emirati Olympians. Rawdha Al Shaafar, one of the founders of A Friend of Mine by Xpoze, designed the uniforms. She commented on the design, stating, “The design is modern and simple at the same time. The color white was chosen for its strength, peace, and purity, reflecting a new beginning for the athletes. The text ‘United Arab Emirates’ in red (in Arabic) symbolizes courage and pride. The fabric is lightweight and breathable, suitable for varying temperatures.”
Emirati House at the Paris Olympics
The UAE will host an ‘Emirati House’ at the Paris Olympics, showcasing the country’s heritage and hospitality. Open from July 27 to August 10, from 10am to 8pm (Paris time), the Emirati House will offer a wide range of activities and events, welcoming visitors to experience the UAE’s culture. Entrance is free.
